New York-based electronic producer, model, and singer, Callie Reiff, was only 15 years old when she broke records becoming the youngest DJ to perform at Webster Hall. Since her iconic Webster Hall debut, the artist has played at major festivals such as Creamfields, EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, and Ultra.
Her signature “indie-club” sound caught the likes of Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. Reiff’s self-made career is already taking the industry by storm by being featured in global tastemakers such as Teen Vogue, Rinse FM’s Marcus Nasty, Diplo, Spotify, and BBC Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale.
“Dark, feminine and bold” are only some of the words that come to mind when describing the EDM songstress and her blends of live electronica, twinkling chimes, and ethereal productions; a true emotive powerhouse in the making.
With over one million streams on Spotify, Reiff’s 2016 debut release “Tin Machine” was the start of her full force career that has thrilling, edgy moments that leave the strongest impression in the trendsetting limelight within the EDM soundscape. She returned with her EP release “Shadow Dancing” which included a collaboration with KANDY.
More notable achievements include gracing Spotify’s “Women of Electronic Music’s” Playlist for Women’s History Month, as well as creating remixes for Sofi Tukker, Kayzo and Ultra Records. Reiff was named one of Teen Vogue’s “10 Female Artists who are Changing the Music Game.” In 2019, the artist fronted Tommy Hilfiger’s “Make It Possible” campaign and signed with Seven20 Management.
2021 has been a year full of breakthroughs for the songstress with the single releases of “The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0,” “Crash Into Me,” “What If’s” and her latest collaboration with singer-songwriter Kaeyra “Heart Ain’t Safe.” Reiff entered 2021 with the release of “The Kids Are All Rebels 2.0,” in collaboration with Lenii that exudes an electrifying sound and the artist’s personal bubbling and dreamy energy.
Released on July 8, Reiff’s latest single “Heart Ain’t Safe” incorporates bass-heavy sonic elements and dubstep production as an ode to her NYC club roots fused with contemporary indie-pop trends. This is the fourth single from her to come out of 2021. “Heart Ain’t Safe” exudes hypnotizing beats to provide a cinematic base for Kaeyra’s soulful, delicate vocals. The inspiration behind the song is about that one person who is always stuck in the back of your mind. “I tried to mimic the lyrics with a somewhat dark-feeling bassline, intense drums, and an energy that makes you want to be in the middle of a dark rave dancing with all your friends,” Reiff said.
In an interview with The Cut, Reiff’s biggest advice for any upcoming artists is that “Practice makes perfect. I was ready to play Webster because of all of those hours preparing and practicing for that big moment.”
With Callie Reiff’s lifelong immersion in the NYC EDM scene, the artist’s personal mixes and inspirations seep through her music, creating heady, stylized mixes of “indie-club” sounds, nods to early pop and club culture allure.
